Ann Curry
Ann Curry is an American journalist and photojournalist who has been a reporter for more than 45 years focusing on the human suffering in war zones and natural disasters. Curry has reported from the conflicts in Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo and the Central African Republic. Ann Curry, (born November 19th, 1956 in Agana American journalist, television news reporter and anchor who was best known for her job as a reporter on the Today program, which was a morning news show that was telecast on the National Broadcasting Co. (NBC). Curry is known for her coverage of human-rights crises as well as natural disasters particularly in nations affected by conflict. Curry's father served as a sailor with the U.S. Navy and her mother was Japanese. Curry met her mother when she was living with their father during Japan in the aftermath of World War II. In the wake of her father's involvement as a military officer and the frequent moves they made. Curry graduated from high school at Ashland Oregon. In 1978 she graduated in 1978 from her school at the University of Oregon with a bachelor's degree in journalism. In Medford, she started her broadcasting career with KTVL Channel 10 as an intern. at the age of 22, she was able to become the station's first female reporter. After that, she moved onto becoming an anchor reporter and anchor for KGW, the NBC affiliate station in Portland. The following year, she relocated back to Los Angeles as a reporter for KBS-TV. It was during her association with this channel for 6 years that she was awarded two Emmy Awards.
